Anglers Quest Saturday Series #6
(Mar. 20, 2004 - Lake Houston, Huffman, TX) Lake Houston water was in really good shape at about normal pool level, with water temps running in the high 60's in the main lake to low 70's up north in the creeks and bayou's. The weather at take-off was a calm 64 degrees with a warming to 82 degrees by weigh in time.


(Mar. 20, 2004 - LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ.) Local pro Mike Goodwin of Lake Havasu City caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 27 pounds, 13 ounces to win the $214,525 EverStart Series Western Division event on Lake Havasu near Lake Havasu City. Goodwin, who led three the tournament three of the four days, earned $8,500 cash plus an Evinrude- or Yamaha-powered Ranger 519 VS equipped with Garmin electronics, a Minn Kota trolling motor and EverStart Batteries.


CITGO Bassmaster Tour presented by Busch Beer
(Mar. 19, 2004 - EUFAULA, AL.) Weights were down a bit on day two of the CITGO Bassmaster Tour presented by Busch Beer on Lake Eufaula, but that didn't stop former world champion Denny Brauer. The Missourian leads with a two-day total of 46 pounds, 10 ounces. His 23-12 catch was the biggest of the day, earning him a $1,000 check for the Busch Heavyweight award.

(Mar. 15, 2004 - Lake Conroe-Willis, Tx) Anglers Quest 2004 Super Team Series #3 blasted off at 6:15 am on Lake Conroe out of Anchorage Marina with 24 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $1420.00. This Series will provide "Team Anglers of the Year" with free entries to all 2005 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship will be held on August 13-14-15 and will be held 1 day on each of 3 different lakes and will take the Top 25 Teams to a very exciting Championship.

(Mar. 10, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) Coming March 28 on "FLW Outdoors," fishing Hall of Famer Hank Parker will preview the Wal-Mart FLW Tour's third stop of the season on Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee. The event, presented by Snickers, is set to start March 10 with the final weigh-in March 13. The "FLW Outdoors" team previews all Wal-Mart FLW Tour events leading up to and including the final stop in Birmingham, Ala., at the $1.5 million FLW Tour Championship slated for Aug. 11-14.

(Mar. 10, 2004 - CHICAGO, IL) [b]TRADING SPACES: FAMILY[/b], a spin-off of the popular cable series TRADING SPACES, is airing it's first nautical episode on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 7:00PM ET/PT and Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 10AM ET/PT. The episode was taped at the Harborage Marina in St. Petersburg, Florida.

(Mar. 04, 2004 - EUFAULA, AL.) Pro Ott Defoe of Knoxville, Tenn., caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 41 pounds to lead the first round of the $256,825 EverStart Series Eastern Division event on Lake Eufaula near Eufaula, Ala. A full field of 200 pros and 200 co-anglers competed in the first round, but only the top 20 from each division survived to fish Friday's round.

(Feb. 26, 2004 - Jasper, TX) Local pro Bradley Stringer of Huntington, Texas, caught a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 38 pounds, 3 ounces to lead the first round of the $256,825 EverStart Series Central Division event on Sam Rayburn near Jasper, Texas. A full field competed in the first round of the tournament, which will award the winning pro as much as $61,900 in cash and prizes. The field was cut to 20 pros and 20 co-anglers for Friday's round.

(Feb. 18, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) Commercials promoting FLW Outdoors will launch on the Wal-Mart Television Network beginning later this month. The commercials showcase the FLW Tour's professional anglers and FLW Outdoors‚ new line of baits available exclusively at Wal-Mart. Five different commercials - which emphasize fishing as a relaxing way to spend quality family time - will be in rotation on the Wal-Mart Television Network twice an hour and will peak at six times an hour during the year.

(Feb. 16, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) The exciting conclusion of stop No. 2 on the 2004 Wal-Mart FLW Tour will be the focus of the March 7 edition of "FLW Outdoors" on the Outdoor Life Network. The vast tidal water of the Atchafalaya Basin near Morgan City, La., will be the setting as Louisiana native and Fujifilm pro Sam Swett of Covington, La., earns his first FLW Tour victory and takes the $100,000 top prize.

(Feb. 05, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) Coming Feb. 22 on "FLW Outdoors," veteran pro angler Larry Nixon interviews some of the top finishers from one of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour's most unpredictable fisheries, Lake Okeechobee in Florida. Nixon talks with winner Ray Scheide of Russellville, Ark., who blew away the competition to take the top prize of $100,000. The program also features second-place finisher Chris McCall of Jasper, Texas, and fifth-place pro Dave Lefebre of Union City, Pa.

(Jan. 19, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) FLW Outdoors‚ television show will make its 2004 debut Sunday, Feb. 8 on the Outdoor Life Network with a preview of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour season opener presented by EverStart Batteries. Veteran outdoor programming host Hank Parker will preview the tournament that takes place Jan. 21-24 on Lake Okeechobee in Clewiston, Fla. Parker and the "FLW Outdoors" team will preview every event of the $6.8 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour this season.

(Jan. 08, 2004 - MONTGOMERY, AL.) "The CITGO Bassmasters" is back on ESPN2. The 2004 season begins this Saturday, Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m. (ET)/9:30 a.m. (CT)/7:30 a.m. (PT), with coverage of the CITGO Bassmaster Open Championship presented by Busch Beer, in which anglers scramble to qualify early for bass fishing's world championship.

(Dec. 31, 2003 - BRISTOL, CT.) Charlie Moore isn't one to sit quietly in a boat for fear of scaring the fish. In fact, the brash Bostonian has made quite a name for himself as one of the most outspoken, trash-talking anglers around, and he's coming to ESPN2 this Sunday.

(Aug. 02, 2003 - ) Mark your calendar: Deion Sanders is out to prove to the stick-and-ball sports world that the best challenges in sports are in the outdoors. Sanders will begin his first season as host of The New American Sportsman on Sept. 8. Sportsman will again anchor ESPN's prime-time outdoors block, and is joined by two new ESPN Original Entertainment shows, Totally Hooked and The Wild Rules, as well as weekend morning favorite Offshore Adventures.

19 Hours of Coverage Begins On ABC Sports
(Jul. 15, 2003 - Reno-Tahoe, NV) July 19 ABC Sports, ESPN and ESPN2 will combine for 19 hours of programming from Reno-Tahoe and the 2003 ESPN Great Outdoor Games Presented by Dodge. The first telecasts will be Saturday – a one-hour show on ABC at 3:30 p.m. followed by shows on ESPN at 4:30 and 9 p.m. ESPN will also have programming on Sunday afternoon and Monday night; ESPN2 will carry the Games on Sunday and Tuesday nights, as well as highlight shows the rest of next week.

Worldwide Leader in Sports Tackles BASS and the Big Easy

Having televised virtually every sport imaginable in nearly 24 years, ESPN will again bring its expertise to the unique challenges of covering the CITGO Bassmaster Classic presented by Busch Beer. (Jun. 10, 2003 - ) Viewers may notice something a little different during the next three weeks of ESPN Outdoors programming on ESPN2. On Saturday, June 14, ESPN2 will air a double dose of the morning outdoors block, beginning programming at 7 a.m. (ET) and ending at 3:30 p.m. The following Saturday, June 21, ESPN Outdoors will resume its normal schedule - but on Saturday, June 28, the ESPN Outdoors block will not air.

(Jun. 05, 2003 - ) Taping will begin June 13 for "The Wild Rules," an adventure race that will debut Sept. 8 as part of ESPN's prime-time outdoors block. "The Wild Rules" will pit two six-member teams against each other and the forces of nature in a trek across British Columbia in which speed and outdoor survival skills will determine which of the 12 contestants takes home the $100,000 prize.

ESPN Outdoors Programming Preview for June 2
(Jun. 02, 2003 - ) There was no beating Oklahoma's Kenyon Hill at the final stop on the CITGO Bassmaster Tour presented by Busch Beer. After leading the field into the second-day cut, Hill joined the other top 12 anglers on Alabama's Lake Jordon, where they fished a links-style course of fishing holes in the Bassmaster Showdown format.

(May. 29, 2003 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) This week on "FLW Outdoors" television, co-host and angling veteran Larry Nixon talks to finalists from the fifth stop on the Wal-Mart FLW Tour that took place earlier this month on Kentucky Lake. Nixon interviews the winner of the $100,000 top prize, Steve Kennedy of Auburn, Ala. Nixon also sits down with the second-place finisher, Evinrude pro Davy Hite of Prosperity, S.C., who took home a $35,000 check.

ESPN2 will feature Kids All-American Fishing Derby on Wal-Mart's Great Outdoors
(May. 20, 2003 - KETCHUM, OK) On a Saturday, May 31, hundreds of Florida's young anglers will be taking over ESPN2's Wal-Mart's Great Outdoors show, in a unique change from the usual programming format. The late May episode (check local listings for air time) features the annual Wal-Mart Kids All-American Fishing Derby held in Lake City, FL and hosted by Columbia County and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The winner takes home $100,000 in gold.

This ESPN Original Entertainment production is searching for contestants for a show that will pit two 6-member teams, consisting of 5 men and one woman each, against one another in an adventure race.

(May. 08, 2003 - ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys) Mike Gallops, a family physician from Naples, Fla., bested 31 other anglers to claim grand champion honors Wednesday, May 7, at the Rolex/International Game Fish Association Inshore Championship in the Florida Keys.

(Apr. 30, 2003 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) This week on "FLW Outdoors" television, co-hosts Carlton Wing and Taylor Carr look ahead at the homestretch of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour season and the drive toward the Jacobs Cup, the $1.5 million world championship of bass fishing and outdoor show in Richmond, Va. After all, Robert Lee of Angel's Camp had just dominated on the Delta and Clear Lake is home water for several Golden Gate State pros - but Jones took the win with a hybrid technique that raised eyebrows and is sure to inspire imitators.

While visiting the largest fishing-research facility in the world, the group learns how cutting-edge lures are designed and tested.

(Mar. 03, 2003 - SLIDELL, LA.) Norman Foskey of Gulfport, Miss., claimed $2,377 as the winner of the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Gulf Coast Division's second regular-season stop, held Saturday on the Pearl River near Slidell. Foskey led the field of 68 boaters with a five-bass catch weighing 17 pounds, 3 ounces.

(Jan. 24, 2003 - ) This week "The CITGO Bassmasters" travels to Okeechobee, Fla. for the second event of the season on the CITGO Bassmaster Tour presented by Busch Beer. Anglers will have to contend with the typical difficulties of fishing in south Florida during January, especially the threat of cooler weather which severely impacts fishing conditions, plus winds that reach 30 mph out on Florida's largest lake.
