Sims wins co-angler title
(Jun. 05, 2014 - HENDERSON, N.C.) Scott Beattie of Lincolnton, N.C., and Scott Tate of Marion, N.C., each weighed a five-bass limit totaling 13 pounds, 9 ounces Saturday to tie for the win at the third Walmart Bass Fishing League North Carolina Division tournament of 2014 on Kerr Lake. For their victories, each earned $2,659, with Beattie taking home an extra $2,300 in sponsor contingency bonuses.

(May. 31, 2014 - Dandridge, TN) Bassmaster Elite Series pro Ott DeFoe got the monkey off his back by finally winning a major tournament on his home waters. The Knoxville, Tenn., competitor clinched his first victory at Douglas Lake by catching the biggest limit of the tournament - a 24-pound, 1-ounce bag - to finish with a three-day total weight of 62-5 in the Bass Pro Shops Northern Open presented by Allstate.

Even though he lives close to the river, Johnson said he limits the amount of time he spends on the water.
