(Sep. 16, 2005 - Lake Forest, IL.) Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) announced today that it has acquired the Harris-Kayot boat company from Bentley Industries of Columbia, S.C. Harris-Kayot, which will remain based in Fort Wayne, Ind., will become part of the Brunswick Boat Group's Freshwater Group of brands. In 2004, Harris-Kayot had annual sales of approximately $35 million. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

(Sep. 12, 2005 - AUSTIN, Texas) Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has introduced a new brochure which details prohibited species in the seafood market. The brochure describes the harm to humans and the ecosystem that could result if each of the exotic (non-native) species makes it out into the environment.

(Sep. 12, 2005 - Chicago, IL) New Orleans Boat Show Manager Barbara Sclafani will temporarily relocate to the Mid-South Regional office of the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) in St. Louis until conditions allow for re-entry into New Orleans.  Sclafani and NMMA are working alongside exhibitors and marine dealers as well as local government officials throughout New Orleans to determine next steps surrounding the status of the 2006 New Orleans Boat Show.

Open Rivers Initiative: Dam Removal Funding Could Provide Major Fishery Benefits

Value of boats imported from U.S. increases 105 percent

Dealers to give certification standards trial run

(Jul. 25, 2005 - WASHINGTON, DC) NOAA Fisheries Service has reduced the recreational red grouper catch limit in the Gulf of Mexico from two fish per person per day to one fish per person per day and closed the recreational grouper fishery in November and December of this year. The federal agency took this action today to reduce overfishing and get the species back on track with its 10-year rebuilding program. The new regulations take effect August 9.
