U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials reopened all swim beach areas on Lake O’ the Pines that were previously closed due to high bacteria levels in the water. Results from tests conducted July 6 were favorable and showed water conditions safe enough to reopen the swim beach areas.
As a public safety measure the U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Lake O’ the Pines conducts every other week water quality monitoring at Corps operated swim beach areas.
As a rule the U.S Army Corps of Engineers has set public safety as its foremost priority and will take action to assure visitors enjoy a safe recreational experience. The public is encouraged to practice safe recreational water environments anytime they are on or near the water.
