Put A New Spin On Super Sensitivity

Who says you can’t be tough and sensitive at the same time? Those are, in fact, two dominant characteristics of Penn’s new Power Graph® II rods — a family of ten fishing rods built with Penn’s exclusive Carbon Core Technology (CCT) — a tubular graphite core overlaid with a strong yet lightweight fiberglass coat. The result is a rod with unparalleled strength and durability, which achieves the next highest level in sensitivity.

Imagine a rod with CCT blank construction so sensitive you can tell the difference between the touch of a rock, the tick of a bush or the tap of a bass, transmitted up the line and along the rod blank to your hands. That’s the advantage of blending a core of tubular graphite with an overcoat of proven fiberglass — creating a family of sensitive rods literally “tough to the core.”

There’s a total of eight one and two piece spinning rods available, plus

a pair of popping rods, to fit a wide range of fresh or saltwater angling. All Power Graph® II rods feature only the highest quality blank-through-butt construction, premium cork grips — except the heavy duty model PG-8870, which has cushioned-foam grips — and lightweight Fuji® reel seats.

Handsome and distinctive, the new Power Graph® II rod blanks express a subtle, matte black finish set off with black wraps tastefully enhanced with a classy touch of gold accent. All ten models in the new Power Graph® family are outfitted with durable, friction reducing aluminum oxide guides.

Anglers may choose from a wide selection of new rod types and actions, ranging from the lightest 6′ PG-8760 rated for 4-8 lb. lines up to the heavy action, 7′ PG-8870 rated for 15-25 lb. lines.

Penn’s Power Graph® II rods also make perfect partner matches to seven

new models in Penn’s new Power Graph® II graphite spinning reels family, covering all angling duties from ultra-light freshwater fishing to power cranking on husky offshore species. Light, yet rugged, the new Power Graph® II spinning reels feature a graphite-reinforced body and balanced rotor, machined anodized aluminum spool, stainless-steel spool shaft, high-strength precision gears and stainless-steel ball bearing action.

A unique, Multi-Point Stopper anti-reverse system provides for a more direct hook-and-line connection and solid hooksets resulting in a higher hooking ratio, while the Power Graph® II multi-disc spool-drag design (using Penn’s exclusive HT100™ drag material on larger models) generates authoritative, fish-stopping power. Other Power Graph® II reel features include an offset bail roller which minimizes line twist, an elongated spool design to reduce line resistance and increase casting distance and accuracy, and a newly designed, counter-balanced handle which is convertible to either left or right-hand drive.
