Mud Hole adds fifth Orlando weekend class Anglers now have more dates across the U.S. in more cities in 2014
Orlando is already the site of four popular rod building classes for 2014 and Mud Hole Custom Tackle has added a fifth date there.
The central Florida venue is among 11 cities across the U.S. where Mud Hole is offering its rod building classes this year to a growing trend of “do-it-yourself” anglers.
Dates in Orlando are April 5 – 6, June 7 – 8, Sept. 6 – 7, and newly added Dec. 6 – 7.
“Our class in January quickly sold out within a month of announcing this year’s dates,” said Mud Hole’s Todd Vivian, a veteran instructor in the now five-year program. “We’ve expanded classes with more cities, open to more attendees with bigger classrooms in bigger hotels’ conference rooms. Most classes fill-up quickly.”
The other upcoming cities and dates include:
Baltimore, Md., March 8-9;
Chicago, Ill., March 22-23;
Houston, Texas, April 26-27;
Boston, Mass. May 10-11;
Savannah, Ga., Aug. 16-17;
Mobile, Ala., Sept. 20-21;
Minneapolis, Minn., Oct. 11-12;
San Francisco, Calif., Nov. 8-9
“We still have the same personal attention with an extra instructor or two,” said Vivian. “The one-and-half day classes begin on Saturdays starting at 9 a.m. and last to 7 p.m. Sunday classes offer more instruction and the completion of the rod from 9 a.m. till noon.”
He said tuition for the Orlando classes is $125. All of the other cities it’s $149. A quality 6’6″ spinning rod from a pre-assembled kit is included in the tuition.
“Once you try it you’ll want to build other rods for fly, ice, bait casting, surf and more.”
