“They did it again!” For the second time in two years, Robert and Yoli Narron of Hemphill Tx. showed the other couples who came from across east Texas to fish the season opener of CAST Southeast on Lake Sam Rayburn, how to produce the winning limit of fish. Life’s best partners can also make a winning team when it comes to fishing together. Yoli’s devotion shined when Robert explained how she reached into the cold water in the back of a cove behind Needmore Point, to push down a log so they could get to their first fish of the day. Robert held on while Yoli got him to the 5.61 lb. fish that would claim Big Bass honors and anchor their 16.35 lb. limit. They both concluded that if it where not for their Berkley line and Eagle Claw hooks they would not have landed as many fish as they did in the brush they where fishing. This couple is dedicated to each other and the pastime they love and share.
Fishing their first tournament together, Scotty and Cheryl Scott of Hockley Tx., put together a day’s limit of bass weighing 10.58 lbs. to claim second place. What a great way to start a year!
On their heels were the Anglers of the Year for 2000, Michael Bolton and Kathy Cater of Conroe Tx., with a limit weighing 9.85 lbs. Michael said he just about got tired of netting all of Kathy’s five fish.
Fourth place, and taking up where they left off before they left Texas, was the couple of David and Monica Price of Huntsville Tx. David also netted fish all day, so it was no surprise when Monica took the stage to claim their check for the 9.52 lbs. of fish they had.
Way to go ladies!!! Congratulations to all the winners.
