Because of the recent heat wave the club decided to change the location of the June tournament to a lake closer to most of the members so we could go out earlier – and come in earlier. It turned out to be a wise decision as the temperature at noon was somewhere around the mid-90’s!
In spite of the heat some were able to get at least a couple of fish in the boat. Judy Muse took First Place with 2 fish and a total weight of 10.95 lbs. She also got Big Bass with a 6.66 pounder. Second place was Carol Smith with 2 fish and a total weight of 9.24 lbs. Sue Cullins came in Third Place with 2 fish and 7.24 lbs.
Cheryl Bowden had one fish for 4.46 lbs. and Jan Bruner had one for 1.18 lbs., taking Fourth and Fifth Places, respectively.
Also fishing were: Traci Smith, Cindy Strong, Inge Kirby, and Dawn March.
In spite of the heat, we had a great time but we sure are looking forward to our next tournament on Lake Athens – at night! This will also be our Second Annual Liz Meisell Memorial Tournament.By: Judy Muse
