Charter Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHTR) and BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, today announced BASS as an associate sponsor of the Number 60 Charter Racing Ford Taurus for the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series.
Plans call for dedicated BASS paint schemes to appear on the car at NASCAR Busch Series races in Charlotte (May 29) and at Pikes Peak (July 31). Fans attending the races and watching on TV will see the iconic BASS shield on the hood and other areas of the car driven by Greg Biffle.
“We welcome BASS to our NASCAR sponsorship,” said Jim Heneghan, Charter Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales. “Our No. 60 car has been a winner for us, not only in the Busch Series, but as an advertising and marketing tool, and an employee morale builder. We’re confident BASS will reap similar benefits.”
Heneghan said Charter is also providing regional airtime to promote BASS events leading up to this summer’s Classic.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the BASS brand and this summer’s CITGO Bassmaster Classic presented by Busch Beer,” said Dean Kessel, vice president and general manager of BASS.
This summer’s 34th Classic will be held in what is widely considered NASCAR territory, Charlotte, N.C., July 30-Aug. 1.
“We are fortunate to have great support from media partners like Charter Communications, whose Get Hooked campaign for connectivity is a natural fit for us in expanding awareness of the BASS lifestyle,” added Kessel.
