Abu Garcia Cardinal Reels have a rich history in high performance while maintaining the boundaries of the budget-conscious consumer. The quality of components has increased and the Cardinal family of reels, STX, SX and S continue the sleek look on the new Abu Garcia Spinning reel.
Packaged in a box or an improved Natralock- clam pack, the Cardinal family of reels is also available in a full range of matching combos. These combos are highlighted by a series of three reels that have a more compact body design, an Everlast – bail system and slow oscillation for more even line lay on the spool.
The rods that compliment the Cardinal STX, SX and S reels have EVA grips and are specifically balanced for the Cardinal family. The STX and SX combos are constructed of 24-ton graphite material, have stainless steel guides with high-density split grips while the Cardinal S combo has a full EVA grip.
Reel features of the STX includes six stainless steel ball bearings plus one roller bearing and has a lightweight graphite body and rotor. The STX is available in five models: the STX5, STX10, STX20, STX30 and STX40. The Cardinal STX spinning reel can be configured for right- or left-hand retrieve. The Cardinal SX spinning reel can be configured for right- or left-hand retrieve. The MSRP for all reel models is $39.99 while the eight, matching combos are available for $69.99.
Rounding out the family of Cardinal reels is the S. It features three stainless steel ball bearings plus one roller bearing. The lightweight graphite body and rotor is a welcome sign to all anglers whether they are fishing all day or all weekend. The Cardinal S spinning reel can be configured for right- or left-hand retrieve. The MSRP for the S5, S10, S20 and S30 reel models is $29.99 while the Cardinal S40 and S60 are $34.99. Seven combos matching the S series reel have an MSRP of $49.99.
