Budsberg and Kerchefski find way to beat the Heat!

The Wisconsin River Series presented by Minn Kota, Humminbird and The Stevens Point Brewery held is second qualifier of the year on lake Nokomis on a VERY hot and windy day, but Nate Budsberg and teammate Tom Kerchefski come away with a big win!

The Lake Nokomis Qualifier is nearly always a hot one. This year was no exception! The Hotkomis effectwas felt by all the teams but despite the wind and heat the fishing was tremendous!

Budsberg and Kerchefski came in with a total limit of 13.91 and had big Largemouth and overall big bass of the day (5.48) second place was Yeng and John Thao with a weight of 13.39, Sam Woberil and Josh Koziczkowski took 3rd with 13.28, 4th was Ed Berndt III and Ed Berndt Jr with 13.04 and 5th was Matt and Dan Hirman with 12.66.

Big Smallmouth for the day and for the third straight year was the team of Trevor Mildenberger and Amanda Fillmore a nice 5.15 fish!

45 teams filled the field for the event sponsored by the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce.

8 additional teams from this qualifier earned entry into the year-end 2 day championship that will be held on the Rhinelander Flowage- sponsored by the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce September 9-11th.

The Wisconsin River Series Presented by Minn Kota, Humminbird and the Stevens Point Brewery consists of four exciting one-day qualifiers and then culminates in a very challenging championship, all held in the same year.
