Fishing & Boating News
(Monday, December 27,1999 - Rhinelander, WI) Texas anglers will be splitting their winter fishing time with the computer, working with the new Digital Map Series from Fishing Hot Spots. The CD-ROM showcases some of the premier waters in the state with a program that's as easy-to-use, as it is to read.
These maps are Fishing Hot Spots trademarks, not the public domain state maps," said product development manager Tom McDonough. "Every map has been updated for the program and it's unlike any other product available."
The Digital Map Series features continuously running lat/long coordinates, providing instant GPS waypoints, the ability to plot those points, name them, make notations and save them for future reference. Savings individual sets of data allows for quicker access to your locations. There's also a distance function that calculates how far you travel between two or up to 10 points on the map.
"The Fishing Hot Spots standard of fishing information is also included," according to general manager Mike Michalak. "There's a wealth of information available. It's a great compliment to the maps and another tool to make that next fishing trip successful."
In addition to GPS, each detailed map features contours, structure, boat ramps, facilities, plus fishing tips and techniques that set Fishing Hot Spots apart from other map companies. A simple mouse-click brings up menus that lead you through the map and information quickly. Included on the CD are some of the most productive waters in the state; Cedar Creek, Conroe, Fork, Palestine, Possum Kingdom, Ray Roberts, Richland Chambers, Sam Rayburn, Texoma and Toledo Bend.
Fishing Hot Spots, Inc., is the nation's largest publisher of inland, freshwater fishing maps with more than 500 titles in 31 states. The suggested retail price for the Digital Map Series is $34.95 . It's available at leading sports goods stores or from Fishing Hot Spots directly by calling toll-free, 1-800-ALLMAPS.
