Yamaha University Builds Infrastructure
(Jan. 17, 2007 - Kennesaw, GA) Yamaha Marine Group today announced several key actions designed to enhance the company's Yamaha University dealer training programs, including forging agreements with two prominent marine-industry trainers and a well-known national marketing firm. "We are rebuilding Yamaha University by working with the best talent in the training industry," said Martin Peters, Yamaha Marine Group dealer education manager. "We are building a team, not outsourcing a function. Our plan is to bring together the best instructors, curriculum developers and other service providers to create the most valuable dealer training programs in the industry." Well-known outboard industry trainers Valerie Ziebron and Noel Osborne are now working exclusively for Yamaha in the marine realm to provide both strategic counsel and curriculum development for Yamaha University. "Valerie and Noel were instrumental in our previous YU Strategic Dealer Management Symposium and very popular with the enrolled dealers. We are glad to have them with us for the future," said Peters. In addition, Yamaha selected Jackson-Dawson Marketing Solutions, a Greenville, S.C., company, to assist with content development and assume overall project management and logistics fulfillment for its two-day Program Resource Orientation (PRO) workshops. The PRO workshops acquaint new dealers with the people and resources at Yamaha Marine Group. "We are proud to be a new training partner with Yamaha Marine," said Lowell Eckart, account director for Jackson-Dawson. "It will be our pleasure to work with Yamaha professionals to develop and execute comprehensive training programs for Yamaha dealers." The Yamaha University PRO workshops are scheduled for Feb. 27-28, March 1- 2, March 13-14, and March 15-16. Yamaha University is in the process of confirming dealer registrations and soliciting attendees. Yamaha will next week publish a toll-free number dealers can use to obtain information about registration for PRO workshops and other training programs. In the interim, dealers can direct questions to Yamaha University's Joey Perry at (864) 272-3176. Yamaha Marine Group is the sole distributor for Yamaha Marine products in the United States. It supports its 2,200 dealers and OEM partners with marketing, training and parts for Yamaha's full line of products and accessories and strives to be the industry leader in reliability, technology and customer service. Yamaha Marine has won the marine industry's C.S.I. Customer Satisfaction Index award every year since its inception. For more information, call (800) 88-YAMAHA.
