(Oct. 05, 2005 - N St. Petersburg, FL) Each year Mastry Engine Center employees donate time and money to the events held by the Old Salt Fishing Club.  As a way of returning that generosity, the club presented $14,000 collected at the 17th Annual Ladies Inshore/Offshore Fishing Tournament to the Celma Mastry Ovarian Cancer Foundation. The Mastry Foundation was established in 2001 after Celma Mastry, wife of Mastry founder D. Eugene Mastry, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer.  Mrs. Mastry's vision was to provide monetary assistance to those who couldn't afford to explore various treatments for the disease and to aid in early detection and prevention.  Her family continues honoring her memory by collecting funds for research, education, financial assistance to patients and new ways of fighting the silent killer. The Old Salt Fishing Club has been raising money for various charities for over 30 years.  The all-volunteer organization has generated $49,000 this year. Mastry Engine Center has been a part of the Old Salt Fishing Club for several years and a sponsor at almost every event.  "For everything they have given to us, it's the least we can do to give back to them," said Jill Foraker, club secretary.  "Because it was a ladies tournament, it seemed only natural to donate the money to the Mastry Foundation."  This was the third year that the proceeds from the Ladies Inshore/Offshore Fishing Tournament have gone to the Mastry Foundation. Through its efforts, the foundation hopes to increase awareness of ovarian cancer and promote research.  Other charities that have benefited from Mrs. Mastry's kindness are the Queen's Court, American Cancer Society, the League to Aid Abused Children and Adults, and St. Anthony's Hospital Auxiliary. Mastry Engine Center is a premier marine engine and parts distributor for Yanmar diesel engines, Crusader, MasPower generators and a variety of gas engines.
