The 28th Annual gathering of the KCKL Bass Tournament at Cedar Creek has been concluded and a 2011 Champion crowned. Don Cope of Eureka landed his 7.47 pound bass around mid day on Sunday to take home First Prize of $5,000 and Champion's Tackle Bag. Don won the Tournament by only 1/100 of a pound!
While many anglers reported catching numerous bass both Saturday and Sunday, the big bass were less common than in previous years. Winner Don Cope reported catching his big bass ?between? boat houses where fewer anglers were concentrating.
Lots of fish were landed over the two Tournament days, but the big bass seemed to be on the move on Sunday as the 2nd Place bass and temporary Tournament leader was brought in by Larry Bright.
Way to go Larry, we thought you were going to take the win. It's one of the closest finishes the Tournament has ever had. Larry's brother Richard always flys in from Virginia to fish the KCKL Tournament with Larry. Richard also scored in the Hourly and Overall Final Standings with a13th Place Finish.
