Boat Boys - About Us

Boat Boys was established in 1996. As the business grew, the site became too small.

In 1999, Boat Boys built a new facility on 3 acres of land with Showroom and a large Shop area.

In April 2003, Boat Boys opened a brand-new 10,000 square foot additional Showroom. Enough room to have all our boat lines displayed inside. This climate controlled building will allow year-round shopping.

David & Mary Calhoun are the owners and are both active in the business. David is general manager and sales while Mary has recently moved to website and advertising.

David has been in the marine business since graduating from high school. He & his father operated a dealership in Murphy, NC. David later moved to Atlanta, GA working for a metro dealer. He opened his own marine repair shop & later moved north of Atlanta to open a full marine dealership.

Changes came in the 80s and he the business moved to a nearby lake as a full service marine shop for a large marina.

In the early 90s, David & Mary moved to Ohio. Boats seem to be in David's blood & he was drawn back to the business. It has been a steady growth ever since.

Mary's background was an elementary school teacher. After marrying David in the 80s, she soon found the business needed her extra help. Her main area in the business has been accounting and titlework. Having trained an office manager, she is now able to work full time on the business website while assisting with sales & service.

We offer new boats and used boats sales in bass boats, duck boats, deep-vee boats, pontoons, deck boats, fish-&-ski boats, and runabouts.

We carry three major boat lines - Skeeter, G3 boats, and Sylvan with Mercury, MerCruiser, and Yamaha motor lines.

Skeeter & G3 Boats were added in the Fall of 2002.

Boat Boys received a "Top Ten in the Nation" Dealer Award for 2002 & 2003 from Sylvan for their pontoons, deck boats, & runabouts. And from Skeeter Boats, 2003 Outstanding Sales Award.

Boat Boys is very active with bass clubs in Ohio and working with the Ohio Bass Federation offering "Skeeter Reel Money" in 9 Federation events!

We are located between two major highways ~ Interstate 70 to the south and State Route 16 to the north.
