Fishing Reports/Water Conditions

Sam Rayburn Lake - TX,Sam Rayburn
The changing weather patterns we've been having have just about given us the same fishing conditions....changing patterns!
With the influx of fresh water the bite seems to change daily or even hourly. About the only constant bite seems to be senkos - fished either weightless or wacky style. Both have to be fished slow, slow, slow, in 10'-12' of water inside grass lines.
But as I said earlier, that pattern can change in a heartbeat. With a little sunshine and warming water look for them to move shallow real quick. Then they can be caught just about any way you prefer to fish.
For numbers of bites you might try a light Texas rigged french fry with a 1/8 or 3/16 oz. sinker. I still like a 3/8 to 1/2 oz. jig around the larger buck brush and willow trees for the larger bass.
The crappie seem to be moving to creek bends in the middle of the coves so it won't be long before we can start chasing them with roadrunners and jigs.
Good luck and stay safe (remember life jackets and killswitches).
