Toledo Bend - TX,Huxley
Fishing report
The lake is 168 msl, high pool is 172 msl, with the lake being about four feet below high pool. The north end of the lake is stained from high winds and clearing as you go south. The water temperature is running in the 70s.
Other than the high winds the fishing has been great on the north end of the lake this last week. After the water warmed up from our last cold front a lot of Blacks moved back into the shallows. Most of the fish are small but the numbers are good with a few going five to six pounds. Finesse plastics, Senkos, Flukes, and Wave worms have been working best from bank shallow to four feet. Key on floating grass, lay-downs and stumps.
The White bass have been excellent on the main lake river sand bars on slab spoons in 14 to 20 feet of water. Good size and good numbers.
The Crappie slowed up in the shallows. Some are moving back in but a lot have spawned and are moving back into deeper water along the creek channels.
