(Apr. 12, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN) Genmar Holdings, Inc. (Genmar) today announced the promotion of Roger R. Cloutier, II to President & Chief Operating Officer (COO). Mr. Cloutier replaces Grant Oppegaard, who has been President and a Genmar Board member since late 1995. Mr. Cloutier, who has served as Genmar’s Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Board member since 1996, will assume the role of President & COO effective immediately. Irwin L. Jacobs, Chairman, stated "Grant's retirement plans to leave Genmar should not be a surprise to those people who have worked with him for the past approximately nine years. During that time, Grant has frequently and openly spoken about his desire to retire and return to his home and family in northern Minnesota." Mr. Jacobs added, "Roger has been a significant contributor to Genmar's success over the past approximately 10 years, as he has worked closely with Grant and me. I am convinced that Roger's transition to President & COO of Genmar will be a seamless one. Roger and I both completely believe in and share the same enthusiasm and optimism for Genmar's continued growth plans, particularly in light of our tremendous worldwide organization of people, dealers, boat brands and an extremely strong financial balance sheet."
