Jimmie Rodgers sang "T for Texas, T for Tennessee." Now we can add two more Ts—for Tony Hill of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Budweiser ShareLunker number ten, which Hill caught from Lake Fork on March 22nd.
Hill was fishing in 61-degree water at a depth of 20 feet using a six-inch plastic lizard when he hooked the 13.08-pound largemouth bass. The lunker measures 25 inches long and 21.5 inches in girth.
Anyone legally catching a largemouth bass weighing 13 pounds or more may enter it into the Budweiser ShareLunker program by calling (903) 681-0550 or paging (888) 784-0600 and leaving a phone number including area code. A representative of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will arrange to pick up the fish, usually within 12 hours. Fish should be handled as little as possible and kept in a livewell or a minnow tank at a marina.
Budweiser ShareLunkers are spawned at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, and the offspring are stocked into public waters in Texas.
