FLW Outdoors Radio To Talk With Injured Angler About His Recovery

by: Bill Petrowiak, FLW Outdoors,

(Mar. 18, 2004 - Dallas, TX) This Sunday on "FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart," hosts Keith Lebowitz and Tony Casillas will talk with Team Snickers pro John Sappington of Willard, Mo. Sappington suffered neck and back injuries prior to the Wal-Mart FLW Tour event held at the Atchafalaya Basin in Morgan City, La., in February. He sustained the injuries when the boat he was piloting struck a cable used to pull the Cote Blanche Ferry near St. Mary Parish, La. Also on the show will be regular guest and Ranger pro-staff guide David Vance to give his weekly fishing update. Sappington, who won the 2002 FLW Tour Championship and has pocketed more than $400,000 from FLW Outdoors events, was ready for another full season on the FLW Tour. Unfortunately, Sappington is sitting out this season due to his injuries; he has been in a medical halo device since the accident. Sappington is expected to make a full recovery. He will talk about his injuries and the healing process and also discuss his future on the FLW Tour. Vance, known as one of the best guides in Texas, will share with listeners the hot spots for fishing over the upcoming weeks. "FLW Outdoors Presented by Wal-Mart" is broadcast throughout Texas and parts of Oklahoma every Sunday from 8-10 a.m. Central time on Fox Sports 1190 AM KFXR in Dallas. Listeners who would like to ask a question of any show guest can e-mail the question to keithandtony@flwradio.com. This week the show will air live from the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 425 Coit Road in Plano, Texas.
