(May. 26, 2009 - DeGray Lake, AR)... Duke Gunnell and Brandon Rhoden topped 35 teams fishing the 4th Super Team tournament of 2009 by catching 5 bass that weighed 18.70 pounds. Anglers were challenged by heavy rain, lightning, and hale, but 14 teams managed to bring a 5 bass limit to the scales. Here’s how the top 3 teams caught their fish: Duke and Brandon used a varietyof baits to catch their bass. Lizards,football head jigs, Jewel Eakins’ Jigs,and swim baits (Optimum Lures) all put fish in the boat. Their sack also included the day’s big bass, a 6.10 pound ?Toad? which earned them an additional $640.00
Tracy and Dennis started their dayby catching a 4-pounder off of a bed.The rest of their bass were caught pitching the new Jewel J-Lock Series flipping jig into flooded bushes. Tracy commented that they caught between15 - 18 keepers on the day.
Dale and Scott concentrated their efforts around deep points. They threw Carolina-rigged Lizards and football head jigs to catch their bass.They had a great day on the water and reported catching 20 keepers and about 40 total bass.
