The Top Teams at Cypress Springs

(Apr. 21, 2009 - Lake Cypress Springs, TX)... Wow! Our AOY race is getting better by the day. Only 30 points separate our top ten couples. Fishing was tough on Cypress. Nearly four inches of rain the days proceeding really muddied the water. We had blue skies at takeoff but the wind showed up early and lasted throughout the day. We also seemed to be plagued with boat troubles for several teams.

Mike and Sharon Stroman took home the 1st place check with 13.55 pounds. Greg and Julie Fleming gained ground with their 2nd place finish with two checks. They had had 12.58 total pounds and Greg had Men’s Big Bass with 4.65. Dave and Betty Parker had the 3rd place check with 12.44. Kelly Mayo had Ladie’s Big Bass with a 3.46 bass. We overlooked Kelly’s weight at the weigh in and will give her a plaque at Lake Tyler.

We had 79 fish weighed and all were released alive. We had a total of 175.34 pounds and 3 fish weighed 3.95 and one at 3.96 for the guys and 2 3.25’s for the ladies.

A big thanks to Cliff Kirby’s Guide service for our plaques. We also gave away door prizes donated by Jim and Kay Anderson.

We go to Lake Tyler on May 17th. We hope to see you all there.
