(Dec. 11, 2007 - Belton, TX)... The last qualifying tournament for the TuffMan Trail for 2007 was held Sunday, the 9th, on Lake Belton. 101 teams showed up for the final opportunity to fish the upcoming 2008 Championship on Lake Stillhouse, January 12th. The weather started out mild, but a cold front came through as the day progressed dropping temperatures earning the Tournament Trail it’s reputation as TuffMan. Thanks to all of the fishermen that participated in the 8th Annual Trail. Your response was fantastic.

Bret Stafford and Ronnie Trower took first place in the final Tuff Man qualifying tournament on Lake Belton, Sunday the 9th, with 5 fish and 21.18 pounds of black bass with the largest fish being over 8 pounds. They won $3,600 for their efforts.

Second place was won by the team of Craig Gilbert and Dexter Thompson with 5 fish weighing in at 19.74 pounds and their largest fish was over 6 pounds.

The Championship will be on January 12th, 2008, at the Bell County Exposition in Belton during the Central Texas Boat Show. The Championship will be fished on Lake Stillhouse Hollow with the weigh-in at the Expo Center at 3:00 PM Saturday.
Results are preliminary and are subject to final certification by the tournament directors!
