(Apr. 28, 2009 - Geist Reservoir, IN)... Geist Reservoir was the site of the second regular season TVA event for 2009. 15 anglers arrived shortly before daylight to fish one of the lakes in our area where a 20 pound bag can be a reality. Unfortunately, rains had dirtied the water and cold temperatures were in order.
Congratulations to Dean Mullins on finding the winning bite. Dean had 3 fish weighing in at 11.73 with a 4.86 kicker. Even on a tough day, you better have a 4 pound average on Geist to win and Dean pulled it off. In second, was Rod Coffing with a nice limit weighing 10.13. In third, was Otis Baumgardt with another nice limit weighing 8.72. Otis Baumgardt is new to the organization and also a non boater. Good job, Otis. Congratulations to Dave Coffing with a 5.07 Big Bass.
Thanks to the guys at Olio Road ramp for use of the facility. Also thanks to www.fishingworld.com. The next TVA event will be at Mississinewa Reservoir on May 9. Just a reminder that everyone must have a DNR state access sticker to use the facility.
