Donations are needed to fund the construction of Pavilion II on our Lake Sam Rayburn site. This new planned facility is very similar to the one now operational, although half sized to seat 100 people which will be located on a scenic lake-view hill within our timbered acreage. The construction of this facility will be offered to smaller events such as weddings- family reunions- company /corporate picnics- smaller fishing tournament events- etc;
A volunteer group of local citizens called The Sam Rayburn Pavilion Association (LSRPA) has been commissioned by the county to manage development of the facility.
The original budget for this overall project was estimated to be more than $100,000,000 ; however, through the use of local inmates and public service personnel, the cost of the project has been reduced to just under $500,000. In addition, local citizens of this community have provided labor, equipment, and materials, which have further reduced construction costs. Please note that no state funds are involved in the construction of this project. This construction is a grassroots effort by the good folks of Jasper County and the surrounding areas!
The community strongly believes that the pavilion will greatly enhance tourism in the area and promote one of the most beautiful lakes in Southeast Texas. We hope that you will become a contributor to this worthwhile project by sending in donations and pledges "large and small" to the above address. A 501c3 Corporation has been formed under the guidance of the county to accept your donations. These donations are tax deductible, and Certificates of Appreciation, suitable for framing, will be mailed to donors; and your names will be noted on our "Pavilion Honor Roll!!"
If you haven't yet seen this "pavilion-in-progress", we invite you to drive by (Hwy 255, before the Eastern end of the causeway crossing the dam) so you will fully understand and appreciate the size, beauty, and unlimited potential of this project.
