Fish Report- 7-1-08
Sam Rayburn is at 162.25 ft. The water temperature has been around 88 degrees. The water is clear to around 2 ft. The fishing has been different this week, one day you get the pattern and put good fish in the boat and the next day it's its like they just vanished. Most of these fish have been in the grass and came off wacky worms and senkos, When that failed to work we went to top water using the Ribbits around the pads and picked up some nice fish. The best top water bite has been early and late. A lot of these fish are buried in grass and it takes some doing to get them out. Jigging the Grass is one way and it can bring up some nice fish but it takes a lot of work, you my go 300 yards without a bite and then catch a couple of good fish. Jigging isn't for everyone but it will bring in some good fish. The Carolina Rig off points and ledges has been picking up a few fish along with the Texas Rig around some of the offshore Structure. The crappie having doing good this last week over the brush piles and around the bridge. Remember get the kids out fishing and have some fun.
If you haven't heard about The Bass Class on the water check it out on the website and give me a call. Learn some new tricks and surprise your friends when you pick up fish on any lake.
God Bless
