Sam Rayburn is at 162.81 ft. The water temperature has been around 85 degrees. The water is clear to around 2 ft. This week the deeper bite has slowed down some, but we did find some fish on the edge of the grass and lily pads using Senkos and Stanley Ribbits. It was slow going but we did put a few in the boat. The pads in the mid lake area have just started to get thick in some areas making it hard to get to them. If you can get in there you've got a great chance of catching a few good fish. There have been a lot of shad showing up in the pockets and I'd bet there are some big fish in there somewhere. There's a lot of grass in the pockets that's been holding some fish. It's been hard to get the fish to come out to sample any bait. Well that's fishing! Ya gotta hang in and try all your best tricks.
The crappie have been doing okay around the bridge and brush piles. It looks like they move in a bit and then back out. We have been getting a limit most days. The high pressure days will slow the bite some.
If you haven't heard about The Bass Class on the water check it out on the website and give me a call. Learn some new tricks and surprise your friends when you pick up fish on any lake.
God Bless
