Sam Rayburn is at 163.11 ft. The water temperature has been around 80
degrees.
The water is clear to around 2 ft.

This week we found a lot of fish moving into the Pads and Pepper grass on
top water using the Stanley Ribbit. The colors change from day to day. I
have been throwing baits that are white, Moss green and Tiger Eye. The
Pop-Rs and Yellow Magic's have been working over the open spots. There have
been some fish off the main points around the grass edges chomping on Deep
running Crankbaits. It's been tough to get a good limit of solid fish but
we've been working some offshore structure and picking up some 4 and 5 lbs
fish. The bite has been very light and hard to feel. It takes a little time
to figure it out but after a short time the client gets keyed in on it and
starts to pull the fish in.

Remember when Dad took you fishing? Now may be the time for you to bring
him out on the lake to do a little fishing. Don't let someone just sit
around the house, get them out fishing and have some fun. Live life to the
fullest! Give me a call and we work something out to get them out on the
water. You can even bring the kids and teach them how to fish this summer.
Start making memories that will last a lifetime.

Ok it's been a over a week now with the new boat from Big D Outdoors and
I'm starting to feel at home with it. I don't know why I waited so long to
get one. This Puma is great! It's got a good ride and fish's like a dream.
I can't believe the room it has to store my stuff and still have room for
the clients gear. Bass Cat builds a great boat. The Mercury 250 Pro XS has
lots of power and can make it across the lake in a hurry. If you're looking
for a New or Used boat give Big D Outdoors a call at 409-769-3700.

The crappie this week has been doing good around the bridge and over the
grass edges along with the brush piles.

One of the crappie trips this week was with Brad &Angie VanMarion. Brad
called me and set up the trip saying it was to be a laid back and easy
trip. He has a boat but wanted to have fun and not get into a hurry on the
trip. After a great breakfast at Jackson Hill Marina we started out to the
first brush top to start the day. We got Angie set up on the back deck in
her seat and Brad and I took the front of the boat. It didn't take Angie
long before she pulled in her first Crappie. I unhooked the fish and
rebaited her hook then went back to the front with Brad. Angie whipped up
on us on the first brush top. The catch was 8 to zip with Angie having
caught the 8. Brad and I had zip. We did catch up but it took us some
doing. Angie also caught her first Bass and was very excited about it. All
in all we had a great time. If you just want to get away and kick back and
have fun on the water give me a call.

If you haven't heard about The Bass Class on the Water check it out on the
website and give me a call. Learn some new tricks and be able to find fish
on any lake.

God Bless
