Sam Rayburn is at 164.24 ft and has came up this week with all the rain.
The water temperature has been around 65,rising in the afternoon. The
water color is clear for the most part with a little more stain in the
upper river and creeks

There've been a lot of fish moving up into the buck brush this week. Some
weigh around 4.5 lbs. I haven't seen any beds on the upper end. I'll be
going down south this week to look it for some big fish. We had several
trips with and caught over 25 fish on each one. Saturday we busted out
from the ramp to our first spot where we begin working the brush catching
some nice fish. We had 5 fish in the boat by 8:00 and begin to cull from
there. I explained the pattern that we had going and how tight these fish
where holding in small groups. If you move to far from them it was hard to
even get a bite. After going thru a lot of fish we made a few moves
looking for the kicker fish. As we moved around the client learned about
the Sonar and GPS Unit. He was amazed at some of the places that he was
over looking that could hold bigger fish. We caught some fish off
structure in water that was 25 feet deep. That was something he had not
done. I know he will put some of the things he learned to good use.
Flipping plastics brought the best bite around the brush but you have to
get in there close. Watermelon Red, Green Pumpkin , Plum/Apple, Black/Blue
and Pumpkin Seed has been the best. E2 Bait Company makes some great
baits that I have been flipping along with a few Stanley Jigs so give them
a try.

The Big Bass Splash is just around the corner on "Big Sam" so you better
start making your plans if you 're going to get in there and fish it.
April 18-19-20, 2008 are the big days. $560,000 worth of Cash and Prizes
WOW !! If you haven't got you trips booked now is the time. " Big Sam" is
a lot different this year then it was last year at this time. Good Luck

"New Video on the website!!"
I have start to video record a few of the trips and will be adding a new
clips each week to the Latest Catch page. It will take you to youtube for
now. Please just click back to the website when you are done. Check out
the Kids on Sam Rayburn Part One & Two

We had some nice Crappie the other day on a few Minnows and Jigs. I know
the Road Runners have been picking up some to, some get your trip booked .

If you need to get away for the day and do a little fishing or would like
to check out The Bass Class on the Water and get some great tips that will
help you on any lake give me a call.

Thanks and God Bless
