2008 Pearl River Singles Circuit Official Rules

1. Participating and Eligibility: All anglers must be 18 years old or older. You must fish alone.

2. Applications: Applications and entry fees must be received before departure. Boat departure will be determined bye the order of entry.

3. Safety: Unsafe boat operations disqualifies the angler. All boats must be equipped with USGC approved life jackets, which must be worn when the combustion engine is in gear. All boats must be equipped with kill switches. In an emergency or breakdown an angler may have his catch brought to the weigh-in by another competitor or take his catch and board another boat to return to the weigh-in. He may not fish from the rescue boat.

4. Sportsmanship: No alcoholic beverages are allowed in boats during the tournament and may not be consumed during the tournament or prior to take-off in the landing area. Any competitor who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or any state or federal law will be disqualified.

5. Protest: Complaints or protests must be submitted in writing to the tournament director within 15 minutes after the scales close.

6. Tackle: All bass must be caught in the conventional manner using rod and reel. Artificial lures must be used. No live or prepared bait, with the exception of pork rind strips. No trolling will be permitted. Only one rod may be used at a time.

7. Permitted fishing water: Competitors may not get out of the boat to access fishing waters. No fishing within 50 yards of a competitor that was first anchored or tied with the motor out of the water. Boats may not be transported over dry land, except a competitor may wench his boat over the sill at Pooles Bluff AFTER TAKE OFF. Waters must be publicly accessible to all fishermen. OFF LIMITS: Seal-Lott and Silica Lakes and Legion Home.

8. Tournament hours: "Safe light" until 3:30pm. You and your creel must be at the landing site at 3:30pm.

9. Penalties: Anglers returning late are disqualified. Minimum length of bass is 12 inches, measured on "Golden Rule" flat board. Short fish will be disqualified and a one pound penalty will be deducted from the remaining weight. Any angler weighing more than 5 fish is disqualified. A penalty of _ pound will be deducted for each dead fish. Fish may not be accepted by the weighmaster at his discretion (iced, spoiled, or damaged). Only Largemouth bass and Spotted Kentucky bass will be accepted.

10. Damages: Damages of any nature to the angler or the anglers property is the responsibility of the angler.

11. Ties: The largest bass weighed in shall determine the winner in all ties. If the largest bass weight the same, the amounts of the prize money in question will be added together and divided equally among the two contestants.

12. The decision of the tournament director shall be final in all maters. Any rule change will be announced prior to the take-off. Polygraph test may be given to any competitors. Boundary: No angler may proceed South or West of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet.

13. Only 5 fish allowed in livewell at ANY time.

Qualification for the "Classic"

1. The top 6 contestants will be decided by the total weight of fish caught in 6 individual tournaments. Second through sixth place will pay a $45 entry with $15 Big Bass option. The Angler Of The Year will fish free.

2. The entry fee for all others is $70 and $15 Big Bass Optional.

3. Entry fee must be received by tournament director by October 11th 2008.

4. All Classic contestants must have fished at least 5 of the individual tournaments in the year of the "Classic". You may buy one.

Rules and Regulations for the "Classic"

1. Same as individual tournaments unless otherwise noted.

2. Two-day tournament. Five fish limit per day. Take off numbers will be determined by the yearly standings. The Angler Of the Year will leave first on both days.

3. If money held for the "Classic" exceeds $2000; 50% for 1st place; 25% of balance for 2nd place; 15% balance for 3rd place; 10% balance for 4th place.

4. If the money held for the "Classic" is less than $2000; $1000 for 1st place; 50% of balance for 2nd place; 30% of balance for 3rd place; 20% of balance for 4th place.

5. Polygraph tests to two of the top five fishers may be administered.
