Pearl River Singles Circuit | |

(Feb. 25, 2008 - Pearl River, MS)... After a summer like day on Friday the 19 anglers were greeted with cold temps at launch time Saturday morning. The winds had also switched out of the North over night with HIGH pressure to set in during the tournament day. These conditions are NOT what the river fisherman like to see heading into the first P.R.S.C. tournament of the 08 season. Many anglers were very unsettled at the launch as to where to go to put five quality fish on the scales at 3:30pm. Last years PRSC Classic CHAMP Larry Mixon picked up right where he left off last October as he brought in a fine bag of fish thus setting the pace for the 2008 season. Larry picked up five fish pretty quick and then went looking for a kicker bite. Although he could have saved some gas because he had it sealed with a limit of solid fish that weighed 12lbs 0ozs. Jeff Pierce fishing out of a new boat broke it in right as he chased down a good limit that was a close second place. Jeff found a limit that weighed 10lbs 15ozs. Once again Tony Cooper found five quality fish to give him a great start for the year. Tony brought back 10lbs 11ozs for third place. Shane Pope too home a nice check for the 4lb 12oz Big Bass award. When asked where he caught the lunker Shane’s response was "the canal"???? Great job guys!!!! Next PRSC tournament will be March 15th at LOCK #1 with the option to launch on the river side or canal side. ALSO PRSC will host an open tournament on March 22nd at Lock 1 also this tournament will benefit the PRSC Classic with an 80%. Look forward to seeing you there!!! This year we have several of the guys fishing the Media Bass Circuit out of the HWY 90 launch. This is one of the toughest circuits around our area and I would like to encourage each of you to precipitate. Until next time may God bless and let us be thankful for what He has given us. |
