A trio of pioneers in electronics, mapping and boat positioning are joining forces with the Classic Bass Invitational tournament. Humminbird, LakeMaster and Minn Kota have pledged their support of the team-format event, which is set for August 29-30 on Pokegama Lake at Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Aligned under the banner of industry icon Johnson Outdoors, the three companies collectively create cutting edge sonar and GPS systems, trolling motors, shallow-water anchors, mapping software and marine accessories that are must-haves for serious anglers. Johnson Outdoors’ Kimber Austin said the alliance with Classic Bass provides a great opportunity for showcasing their best-in-class products.
"We’re very excited about this partnership," said Austin. "Classic Bass has a rich history of promoting tournament fishing. And now, with the company’s new ownership and direction, its potential to serve competitive bass anglers and corporate partners is amazing."
For anglers competing in the CBI event, the new sponsors mean a shot at even more great prizes in an already impressive payout that offers more than 100 percent payback in cash and prizes. Grand prize is a brand-new Ranger RT 188 aluminum bass boat, powered by a 115-horsepower Mercury OptiMax Pro XS.
The boat and motor package, valued at $25,000, will be awarded to the winners, thanks to a partnership between Ranger Boats, Mercury Marine and Classic Bass. Additional places are slated to win cash prizes plus great electronics, mapping and trolling motor packages from Minn Kota, Humminbird and LakeMaster, depending on the final number of tournament entries.
The CBI tournament is an extension of the popular website Classic Bass, which for nearly two decades has been Minnesota’s go-to source of bass tournament information. As part of tournament festivities, Classic Bass will unveil a total site redesign, featuring a new look, additional content and better functionality.
"We’re excited to have more industry leaders like Minn Kota, Humminbird and LakeMaster on board with the Classic Bass Invitational," said tournament director Rick Pelletier."Their participation will allow us to continue to enhance the payouts for the event and exceed the expectations of our anglers."
The Classic Bass Invitational is open to all two-person teams. Entry fee is $600 per team, and the registration deadline is Friday, August 23. For more information or to register, visit the classicbass website or contact tournament director Rick Pelletier at: email@example.com, (952) 270-3864.
