(Apr. 05, 2013 - Jasper, TX)...

A field of 263 entries from across the nation converged to Lake Sam Rayburn in the Lone Star state ... Texas. The 26th Invitational first day proved trying for many of the anglers with unstable weather conditions ... a typical occurrence for the Owners Invitational. But, today a different story, a bluebird mid 60?s day with calmer winds.

Here’s how the 26th Invitational played out for Bass Cat owners fishing here at Sam Rayburn.

The 2013 Bass Cat Owners Invitational Champions are David Covell of Praireville, LA, and partner Albert Collins of Nachogdoches, TX with a total weight of 36.23 lbs. They are taking home a new 2013 Bass Cat Eyra rigged with a Mercury 250 ProXS OptiMax, and MotorGuide Trolling Motor.

The Second place award of a new 2013 Bass Cat Margay went to the team of Darren Roberts of Nachogdoches, TX and partner Clayton Boulware with a total weight of 35.82 lbs.

Overall Big Bass for the tournament weighed 9.52 and was brought to the scales by the team of Joey Hurley and father Jim Hurley of Texarkana, TX ... that hawg produced a big stack of cash.

Bass Cat Owner Larry Dean of Houston, TX was the lucky owner left standing in the paddle "draw" he took home a beautiful 2013 Bass Cat Margay.

One "lucky" Duck was brought to weigh-in by Robert and James Callagham of DeBerry, TX ... it was traded in for a new 2013 Mercury Outboard ... lucky ducks for sure.

Big Crappie for the tournament was a 1.34 lbs. by Bryon Luman, and John Talton of Huntsville, AL, they took home a cool $1,000.

"fun" pot ... the largest Hybrid weighed in at 1.88 lbs. and was caught by Jason Bunch and Tom Denniston of Sherwood, AR, that little jewell was worth a $1,000.

A total of 1213 Bass were caught and released that weighed in at 2,578.49 pounds.

This Tournament offered a lot of free Strike King product, a stack of Lew’s Rods, Vicious Line and more goodies. Plus ... you have Wild Cards, Big Bass, Hybrid, Crappie and much more in prizes... and burgers to boot!

A Very Special Thanks, to Strike King Lures, and Mercury Outboards, without their generous donations and other sponsor donations the Owners Invitational sure wouldn’t be ??the same great event!
