Anglers Quest 2013 Sam Rayburn Saturday Team Series #4 out of The Umphrey Pavilion at Sam Rayburn, Tx began this event with 124 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $10,700.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the Sam Rayburn Saturday Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Rayburn Championship. The top team in points after the series will be declared the Team Anglers of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Rayburn Saturday Series events. The teams entering all 8 Rayburn Saturday series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lakes Saturday Series 2-day Championships. Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.

This 4th event of 2013 was started at 6:50 am. Sam Rayburn water was in good shape and 1.77 feet below normal pool level with water temps running 67-72 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 59 degrees with a warming to 76 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was good on Big Sam today as there were 42 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 216 bass at 582.38 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.69 lb.

The one man team of Rodney Dotson from Brookeland, Tx ran his bass rig to south lake creek areas with bedding bass to catch his bass throwing tx rigged flukes in 0-3 ft of water. Rodney managed to cull numerous times to finish in 1st place with 23.14 lbs. This win made Rodney $3000.00 for his day on the water.

The team of N Dee Williams from Cushing, Tx & Jeff Wise from Lufkin, Tx ran N Dee’s Ranger/Evinrude bass rig to mid lake creek areas over grass to catch their bass throwing Stanley ? oz spinner baits in 3-7 ft of water. They managed to cull several times to finish in 2nd place with 21.18 lbs. N Dee also had switched his boat insurance over to Foremost with the Salamone Agency and collected the $200.00 incentive bonus package for the 2nd event in a row. The team wanted to give special Thanks to The Boat Center at Lake Palestine for the awesome service in preparing their Ranger for this event. This win made them $2200.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx & Mark Rouse from League City, Tx ran their bass rig to mid & north lake creek areas to probe the bedding areas holding bass to bring 20.95 lbs to the scales. Their largest find of the day was a fine 9.18 lber that they received the $200.00 Big Bass award with. They finished in 3rd and collected $1200.00 for their day on the water.

The one man team of Clayton Boulware from Zavalla, Tx finished in 4th with 19.82 lbs and collected $850.00. The team of Justin Burns & Richie Wagnon finished in 5th with 19.59 lbs and collected $700.00. The team of Ricky Guy & his partner Eric Hunt finished in 6th with 18.69 lbs and collected $550.00.
