Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Individual #3 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 19 anglers showing up to fish for the $1165.00 purse. This 3rd event of 2013 was started at 7:15 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 4:00 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 Houston Individual Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Lake Houston Individual Championship. The top Individual in points after 8 events will be declared the Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Individual Series events. The Individuals entering all 8 Houston Individual Sunday events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.
Lake Houston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 65-67 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a windy 65 degrees with a huge storm brewing, after the storm passed the day warmed up to 75 degrees. The fish catching continues to be very good on Lake Mud as there was 12 limits brought to the scales for a total of 63 bass at 205.88 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 3.26 lb.
Albert White from Houston, Tx ran his Ranger/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing hand made frogs in 1-3 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Albert also had a fine kicker at a 6.06 lber. Albert managed to catch 7 keepers to finish in 1st place with a record setting bag of 5 bass tipping the scales at 21.43 lbs and made himself $730.00 for his day on the water.
Russell Batchelor from Crosby, Tx ran his bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing jigs in 2-4 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Russell managed to catch 10 keepers to finish in 2nd place with a great bag of bass tipping the scales at 18.60 lbs and made himself $300.00 for his day on the water.
Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury bass rig to the north end of the lake to finish with 5 bass at 18.29 lbs to claim the 1st out of the money Gift Card. The 1st place out of the money at all A/Q events this year will receive $50.00 gift cards from Martels Welding Works towards the purchase of a Rhino spray in Bed Liner. You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat.

On March 16th A/Q will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston for the 3rd of 8 Houston Saturday Team Series events. On March 17th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Livingston for the 3rd of 8 Individual Series events. Anglers Quest will be back at The Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn on February 23rd & 24th for the 3rd of 8 Sam Rayburn Saturday & Individual Series events.
<> Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 2 series events to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 5 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on April 21?May 26?June 23?July 21?August 18. The 5 remaining Houston Individual events will be on April 14?May 19?June 9?July 14?August 4. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience...we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
