Anglers Quest 2013 Livingston Saturday Team Series #3 out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 104 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $8870.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the 8 Livingston Saturday Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Livingston Championship. The top team in points after the series will be declared the Team Anglers of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Livingston Saturday Series events. The teams entering all 8 Livingston Saturday series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.

The Livingston events are all trailoring events, this event started at 6:15 am. Livingston water was in good shape and 6" above normal pool level with water temps running 57-59 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 46 degrees with a warming to 72 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was real decent on Livingston today as there were 31 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 169 bass at 501.39 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.96 lb.

The team of Mark Mueck from Livingston, TX & David Curtis from Trinty, TX David’s flat bottom/Yamaha bass rig to north end creek areas to catch their bass throwing TX-rigs & spinner baits in 1-5 ft of water. They managed to catch many keepers and cull up to finish with their best 5 bass at 22.47 lbs. They also had the Big Bass of the event, a really fine 7.84 lber. This win & Big Bass made them $2750.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Kurt Luker from Cleveland, TX & Rusty Jeffcoat from Conroe, TX ran their bass rig to the Kickapoo Creek area to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 21.85 lbs. They had a limit in the boat using spinner baits by 10 am and then culled a couple more times throughout the day. Their day on the lake paid back $1250.00 for their efforts.

The team of Don LaHue from Livingston, TX & Jared McCulley from Onalaska, TX ran their bass rig to the kickapoo creek area to finish in 3rd with 18.72 lbs and collected $950.00.

The team of Morgan Burton from Livingston, TX & Keith Phillips from Huntsville, TX ran their bass rig to south main lake creeks to catch their bass throwing TX-rigs & jigs in 1-5 ft of water. They managed to catch several keepers to finish in 4th with 18.26 lbs and collected $850.00 for their day on the water.

Wade Ellis from Livingston, TX & Chad Rowe from College Station, TX finished in 5th with 17.75 lbs and collected $750.00. The team of Michael Lewis & David Guest from Livingston, TX ran their bass rig to Kickapoo creek areas to finish in 6th with 17.71 lbs and collected $600.00. The Buster McNutty’s team of David Burns & Joey Martin finished in 7th with 17.25 lbs and took home $500.00. The team of Dean Coleman & Jim Guzman finished in 11th which was the 1st place out of the money with 16.42 lbs and won the 2 $15.00 Buster McNuttys gift cards and the 2 Martel’s Welding Works $50.00 off Gift Certificates towards the purchase of a Rhino Bed Liner. Anglers Quest will be back at The Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn on February 23rd & 24th for the 3rd of 8 Sam Rayburn Saturday & Individual Series events.

NOTE Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 2 series events to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 5 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on April 21-May 26-June 23-July 21-August 18. The 5 remaining Houston Individual events will be on April 14-May 19-June 9-July 14-August 4. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience?we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
