Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Individual #2 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 17 anglers showing up to fish for the $1305.00 purse. This 2nd event of 2013 was started at 6:35 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 4:00 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 Houston Individual Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Lake Houston Individual Championship. The top Individual in points after 8 events will be declared the Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Individual Series events. The Individuals entering all 8 Houston Individual Sunday events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.
Lake Houston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 61-63 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 45 degrees with a warming to 69 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching continues to be good on Lake Mud as there was 13 limits brought to the scales for a total of 80 bass at 238.33 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.97 lb.
Danny StAndrie from Huffman, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing tx rigged worms in 1-4 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Danny also had a fine kicker at a 5.71 lber. Danny managed to catch 10 keepers to finish in 1st place with a great bag of 5 bass tipping the scales at 19.00 lbs and made himself $600.00 for his day on the water.
Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing tx rigged brushhogs in 2-6 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Randy also had the Big Bass of the event, a fine 6.81 lber. Randy managed to catch 15 keepers to finish in 2nd place with a great bag of bass tipping the scales at 18.70 lbs and made himself $400.00 for his day on the water.
Ryan Fallwell from Crosby, Tx ran his bass rig to north end creeks and finished his day in 3rd with 5 bass at 17.68 lbs and took home $150.00 for his efforts. Wesley Bennett from Houston, Tx ran his bass rig to the north end of the lake to finish with 5 bass at 17.32 lbs to claim the 1st out of the money Gift Card. The 1st place out of the money at all A/Q events this year will receive $50.00 gift cards from Martels Welding Works towards the purchase of a Rhino spray in Bed Liner. You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat.

Anglers Quest will be back at The Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn on February 23rd & 24th for the 3rd of 8 Sam Rayburn Saturday & Individual Series events. On March 9th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Livingston for the 3rd of 8 Saturday Series events. On March 10th A/Q will be back at Lake Houston for the 3rd Individual event of the year.
**NOTE** Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 2 series events to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 6 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on March 17-April 21-May 26-June 23-July 21-August 18. The 6 remaining Houston Individual events will be on March 10-April 14-May 19-June 9-July 14-August 4. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience...we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
