(Feb. 17, 2013 - Lake Houston, Huffman, Tx)...

Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Saturday #2 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 64 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $5395.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the 8 Lake Houston Saturday Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top team in points after 8 events will be declared the Team Anglers of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Saturday Series events. The teams entering all 8 Houston Saturday series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend. This 2nd event of 2013 was started at 6:35 am. Lake Houston water was in good shape and at approximately normal pool level with water temps ranning 61-63 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 39 degrees with a warming to 58 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was very good on Lake Mud today as there were 17 limits brought to the scales for a total of 117 bass at 339.85 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.90 lb.

The team of Tommy Shugart & Curtis Jordan from Dayton, Tx ran Tommy’s bass rig to a south lake creek to catch their bass throwing tx rigged worms in 1-6 ft of water. They managed to get 11 bites to finish with a great sack at 18.66 lbs. This win made them $2000.00 for their day on the water.

The team of David Wheaton from Huffman, Tx & Tansley Bynog Sr from Porter, Tx ran David’s Gambler/Mercury bass rig to numerous parts of the West Fork to catch their bass throwing C-rigged worms in 1-6 ft of water. They managed to get 8 bites to finish with a great sack at 18.52 lbs with a 5.16 lber for their kicker. This 2nd place finish made them $1000.00 for their day on the water.

The Crawford Technical Services team of Greg Crawford & Jesse Johnson from Huffman, Tx finished in 3rd with their best 5 bass caught with tx rigged worms & spinner baits in 1-5 ft water in the East Fork and Luces Bayou. Greg & Jesse had a fine 5.24 lber for the Big Bass of the event. They collected $950.00 for their efforts.

The team of Raymond Balcerowicz & Dustin Morris from Crosby, Tx finished in 4th with 5 bass at 16.81 lbs and collected $600.00. The team of Ryan Fallwell & Tim Fallwell finished in 5th with 16.15 lbs to collect $400.00. Josh Ware & Randy Carter finished in 6th place today with 5 bass that tipped the scales at 16.06 lbs and collected the last money spot of $235.00. John Littleton & Jerry Wade received the Gift cards from Martel Welding Works. The 1st place out of the money at all A/Q events this year will receive $50.00 gift cards from Martels Welding Works towards the purchase of a Rhino spray in Bed Liner. You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat.

Anglers Quest will be back at The Umphrey Pavilion on Sam Rayburn on February 23rd & 24th for the 3rd of 8 Sam Rayburn Saturday & Individual Series events. On March 9th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Livingston for the 3rd of 8 Saturday Series events. On March 10th A/Q will be back at Lake Houston for the 3rd Individual event of the year.

**NOTE** Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 2 series events to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 6 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on March 17-April 21-May 26-June 23-July 21-August 18. The 6 remaining Houston Individual events will be on March 10-April 14-May 19-June 9-July 14-August 4. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience...we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
