Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Individual #1 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 18 anglers showing up to fish for the $1105.00 purse. This 1st event of 2013 was started at 6:55 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 4:00 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 Houston Individual Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Lake Houston Individual Championship. The top Individual in points after 8 events will be declared the Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Individual Series events. The Individuals entering all 8 Houston Individual Sunday events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.
Lake Houston water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps ranning 58-59 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 49 degrees with a warming to 68 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching continues to be slow on Lake Mud as there was 3 limits brought to the scales for a total of 28 bass at 63.17 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.25 lb.
Greg Crawford from Huffman, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing tx rigged critter craws in 1-5 ft of water around grass and brush. Greg managed to catch and cull from 7 keepers to finish in 1st place with a great bag of bass tipping the scales at 12.71 lbs and made him $600.00 for his day on the water.
Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury to north end creeks and finished his day in 2nd with 5 bass at 9.69 lbs and took home $270.00 for his efforts. Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran his Triton/Mercury to the north end creeks of the lake to finish with 5 bass at 9.34 lbs to garner the 1st place out of the money gift card. The 1st place out of the money at all A/Q events this year will receive $50.00 gift cards from Martels Welding Works towards the purchase of a Rhino spray in Bed Liner.
You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat. 1st Big Bass of the event, a fine 3.73 lber was brought to the scales by Robert Willis and collected $100.00 for this bite.

The postponed January 13th Individual Livingston event will be done on January 27th at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle. On February 9th & 10th Anglers Quest will be back at Lake Livingston for the 2nd of 8 Saturday & Individual Series events. On February 16th & 17th A/Q will be back at Lake Houston Marina for the 2nd of 8 events. Anglers Quest still accepts Credit Cards.
