The 2012 IFA Redfish Tour season is officially in the books. The highly acclaimed, no entry fee Championship took place Oct 26-27 in uisiana, with anglers from across the country vying to take home top honors in addition to the winning prize package which included a new, fully-rigged Ranger 173 Ghost. When the scales closed, Panama City anglers Fred Myers and Jake Matney claimed their first IFA Redfish Tour Championship. The Cabela’s overall and divisional Team of the Year awards were also announced at the Championship - Dwayne Eschete and partner Eddie Adams claimed the overall title and the $5,000 prize from Cabela’s. Myers, Matney claim 2012 IFA Championship Team
takes home new Ranger boat with victory
Fred Myers and Jake Matney, both of Panama City, Fla., weighed in four redfish that totaled 28.38 pounds to win the IFA Redfish Tour Championship event at Chalmette on October 27.
To win the two-day event, which operated out of Gulf Outlet Marina, the pair topped a large field of other two-angler teams to take home a new, fully rigged Ranger 173 Ghost powered by a 115-horsepower, four-stroke Yamaha outboard and equipped with a Power-Pole shallow water anchor, Minn Kota trolling motor, Humminbird electronics, Blue Point Fabrication metal work, Bob’s four-inch Ultra Light Jackplate and a Loadmaster trailer valued at $36,000.
Eschete, Adams Named Cabela’s Team of the Year
Anglers win overall title plus $5,000 and 2013 entry fees
Dwayne Eschete and Eddie Adams, who finished in fourth place, won the Cabela’s 2012 Team of the Year Award and took home $5,000 as well as the $750 Humminbird contingency award.The Cabela’s Team of the Year award represents a remarkable season for Eschete and Adams, which includes an IFA Redfish Tour Victory earlier this year at Empire, LA. In addition to the $5,000from Cabela’s and the $750 Humminbird contingency,Eschete and Adams also received free 2013 entry fees for the Louisiana Division.
