(Oct. 08, 2012 - Lake Houston, TX)... Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Saturday Series Championship is now in the books, and the Saturday Series for Lake Houston is complete for 2012. The event began on Friday evening with visiting & drinks at Lake Houston Marina with the presentation of the special "Anglers of the Year Goal Post" to the 1st time ever "Anglers of the Year", Dean Coleman & Jimmy Emmons Jr, they will receive free paid entries to all A/Q Lake Houston Saturday Series Events in 2013. The Side Pot Auction followed and sold teams from $200 and up to raise $4050.00 to add to the anglers pot.
The weather was cloudy and cool, 64 degrees on Saturday morning with a high of 87 degrees. Sunday morning it was 53 degrees with high 60’s at weigh in time with a light breeze for the event. As the event got underway with the 22 qualified teams taking off into the dim morning light from their choice of launch ramps around the lake at 6:55 am. The anglers were all going for the $10,355.00 purse that was the payback by Anglers Quest at this Championship event. The water at Lake Mud was at approximately 1 ft below normal pool level. At the end of day 1 the 22 teams brought in 18 limits of bass, 99 fish that totaled 233.20 lbs with a 2.39 avg. At the end of day 2 the 22 teams brought in 35 limits of bass, 194 fish that totaled 453.99 lbs with a 2.34 avg.
After the 2 full days of competition the team of Todd Hughes from Goodrich, Tx & Craig Morris from Crosby, Tx brought in a total of 10 bass at 25.12 lbs to collect 5th place and $205.00. The team of Chris Berry from Houston, Tx & Robert Hatchett from Humble, Tx brought in 10 bass at 26.80 lbs to claim 4th place and $1400.00. The team of Albert White from Houston, Tx & Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx came to the scales with 10 bass at 28.30 lbs to give them a 3rd place finish and collected $1600.00 for their portion of the purse and Side Pot.
The team of Jason Reyes from Huffman, Tx & Jeff Kreit from Ardmore, Ok ran Jason’s Lowe/Mercury bass rig to the north end of the lake to bring in a 10 bass limit at 28.52 lbs and claimed 2nd place and $1200.00. They did purchase their team in the Side Pot auction for $200.00 and received another check for $1000.00 giving them an $2200.00 payday.
The team of James Chandler from Liberty, Tx & Sandro Alfaro from Crosby, Tx brought in 10 bass at 29.24 lbs to claim 1st place and $2500.00. James & Sandro did purchase their team in the Side Pot auction for $200.00 and received an additional check for $2000.00. They also had the 2nd Big Bass at 4.41 lbs and collected $350.00 for that one bite and made them a total of $4850.00. Good Job Guys!!!

Anglers Quest 2013 Schedules & Rules are now available online at the anglers-quest website. The 1st events for the 2013 season will be the Saturday Series Team event on Sam Rayburn, January 5, & the Individual event on January 6, 2013.
