Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Individual Series Championship is now in the books, and the Individual Series for Lake Houston is complete for 2012. The event began on Friday evening with the meeting and side pot auction at Lake Houston Marina and the presentation of the special " Anglers Quest Goal Post" to the "2012 Angler of the Year", James Chandler, James will receive free paid entries to all A/Q Lake Houston Individual Series Events in 2013. The Side Pot Auction followed with all but 1 Individual buying into the side pot and raised $1350.00 to add to the anglers pot.
The weather was clear and sunny on Saturday & Sunday with low 60’s at daybreak to mid 80’s during the day. As the event got underway with the 10 qualified individuals taking off into the dim morning light from their choice of launch ramps around the lake at 6:45 am. The anglers were all going for the $3505.00 purse that was the payback by Anglers Quest at this Championship event. The water at Houston was in good condition. At the end of the 2 days the 10 teams brought in 13 limits of bass during the 2-days 75 fish that totaled 179.81 lbs with a 2.39 avg.
John Littleton from Humble, Tx finished in 3rd with 10 bass that tipped the scales at 24.80 lbs and collected a total of $205.00 for his days on the water.
Raymond Minchew from Crosby, Tx fished this event and brought in 10 bass at 26.91 lbs to claim 2nd place and $450.00. Jeff did get in the side pot on Friday night for an additional $405.00. One of Raymond’s Bass was the 1st Big Bass of the event at 5.91 lbs and he collected $350.00 for that one bite making him a total payday worth $1205.00.
James Chandler from Liberty, Tx ran his BassCat/300 Mercury to north lake areas to catch his 10 bass using his rods & reels spooled braided line. James came to the scales with 5 bass at 14.31 lbs on day 1 and 5 more on day 2 at 14.60 lbs to give him the 1st place finish at 28.91 lb. One of James’s Bass was the 2nd Big Bass of the event at 4.56 lbs and he collected $150.00 for that one bite. James did buy in the side pot for $150.00. James collected a total of $1995.00 for his day on the water?.Good Job!!.
Anglers Quest 2013 Schedules are now available online at the anglers-quest website. The 1st events for the 2013 season will be the Saturday Series Team event on Sam Rayburn, January 5, & the Individual event on January 6, 2013.
