(Aug. 20, 2012 - Lake Houston, Huffman, TX)... Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Individual Series #8 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 9 anglers showing up to fish for the $765.00 purse. This 8th event of 2012 was started at 6:30 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:30 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 of Lake Houston Individual Series events automatically qualified for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top Individual in points after all 8 events was declared the Individual Angler of the Year, James Chandler will be awarded free entries to all 2013 Houston Individual Series events. Any Individual entering all 8 Houston Individual series events automatically qualified for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 20-21 at Lake Falcon.
All A/Q Individual Series events are trailoring events. Lake Houston water was in decent shape and approximately normal pool level with water temps ranning 89-90 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a mild calm 76 degrees with a warming to 90 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was good on Houston today as there were 4 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 26 bass at 52.60 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.02 lb.
Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran his Triton/Mercury bass rig to the north lake E. Fork & Luces Bayou areas to catch his bass throwing tx rigged brushhogs & small crank baits in 1-4 ft of water around stumps and brush. Chris managed to catch 5 keepers with one of his bass being the big bass of the event at 3.59 lbs and to finish in 1st place with a bag of bass tipping the scales at 11.00 lbs and made him $500.00 for his day on the water.
John Littleton from Humble, Tx ran his Bass Rig to north & south end creeks and finished his day in 2nd with 5 bass at 10.77 lbs to take home $220.00 for his efforts.
Wesley Bennett from Houston, Tx ran his Bass Rig to north end creeks and finished his day in 3rd with 5 bass at 10.49 lbs.
