(Aug. 19, 2012 - Lake Houston, Huffman, TX)...

Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Saturday Series #8 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 46 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $2965.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the 8 Lake Houston Team Series events automatically qualified for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top team in points after all 8 events was declared the Team Anglers of the Year, Dean Coleman & Jimmy Emmons Jr will be awarded free entries to all 2013 Houston Team Series events. The teams entering all 8 Houston Team series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lakes Team Series 2-day Championships.

Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 20-21 at Lake Falcon. This 8th event of 2012 was started at 6:30 am. Lake Houston water was in decent shape and at approximately normal pool with water temps running 89-90 degrees. The weather at takeoff was calm and 75 degrees with a warming to 94 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was very good on Lake Houston today as there were 16 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 82 bass at 175.67 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.14 lb.

The team of Travis Robinson from Kingwood, Tx & Ruben DeLeon from Houston, Tx ran Travis’s bass rig to north lake creeks. They finished in 1st with their best 5 bass caught with spinner baits & small cranks in 1-4 ft water that tipped the scales at 14.97 lbs. They also had the Big Bass at a 3.97 lber and collected $1450.00 for their efforts.

The Team of Russell Traylor from Huffman, Tx & Bryan Stevens from Crosby, Tx ran their bass rig to the north end of the lake to catch their bass throwing Tx rigs in 1-5 ft of water around pads. They managed to cull several times to finish in 2nd place with 13.59 lbs. This win made them $725.00 for their day on the water.

The one man team of John Littleton from Humble, Tx ran his bass rig to north lake creeks to finish in 3rd with his best 5 bass caught with tx rigged worms & spinner baits in 1-5 ft water that tipped the scales at 12.65 lbs. John collected $450.00 for his efforts.

The team of Chris Berry from Houston, Tx & Robert Hatchett from Humble, Tx finished in 4th with 5 bass at 12.03 lbs and collected $230.00 for their day on the water.

The team of Robert Willis & Wesley Bennett finished in 5th and 1st place out of the money with 11.59 lbs.
