Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Saturday Series #7 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 58 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $3975.00 purse. Any team entering 6 of the 8 Lake Houston Team Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top team in points after all 8 events will be declared the Team Anglers of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2013 Houston Team Series events. The teams entering all 8 Houston Team series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lakes Team Series 2-day Championships. Any team qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 20-21 at Lake Falcon. This 7th event of 2012 was started at 6:10 am. Lake Houston water was in decent shape and at approximately normal pool with water temps ranning 89-90 degrees. The weather at takeoff was calm and 75 degrees with a warming to 89 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was decent on Lake Houston today as there were 8 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 65 bass at 147.63 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.27 lb.
The team of Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx & Albert White from Houston, Tx ran Albert’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks. They finished in 1st with their best 5 bass caught with tx rigged worms & small cranks in 1-5 ft water that tipped the scales at 14.52 lbs. Albert also had the Big Bass at 4.45 lber and collected $1650.00 for their efforts. Chris collected $80.99 for the 3rd time this year on his Solar Bat sunglasses for the incentive bonus.
The Team of David Wheaton from Huffman, Tx & Lanny Diemert from Kingwood, Tx ran David’s bass rig to the north end of the lake to catch their bass throwing Tx & C-Rigs in 1-5 ft of water around pads. They managed to cull several times to finish in 2nd place with 12.80 lbs. This win made them $800.00 for their day on the water.
The team of James Chandler from Liberty, Tx & Sandro Alfaro from Crosby, Tx ran Jame’s BassCat/300 Mercury bass rig to north lake creeks. They finished in 3rd with their best 5 bass caught with tx rigged worms & spinner baits in 1-5 ft water that tipped the scales at 12.65 lbs. They collected $600.00 for their efforts.
The team of John Littleton from Humble, Tx & Danny StAndrie from Huffman, Tx finished in 4th with 5 bass at 11.87 lbs and collected $380.00 for their day on the water.
The team of Dean Coleman & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx finished in 5th place with 11.57 lbs and collected $200.00 for their day on the water.
