(May. 28, 2012 - Lake Houston, Huffman, TX)...

Anglers Quest 2012 Lake Houston Individual Series #5 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 10 anglers showing up to fish for the $860.00 purse. This 5th event of 2012 was started at 5:55 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 3:30 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 of Lake Houston Individual Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Houston Championship. The top Individual in points after all 8 events will be declared the Individual Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2013 Houston Individual Series events. Any Individual entering all 8 Houston Individual series events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the "Tournament of Champions" on October 20-21 at Lake Falcon.

All A/Q Individual Series events are trailoring events. Lake Houston water was in decent shape and approximately normal pool level with water temps running 92-94 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a mild calm 78 degrees with a warming to 91 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was good on Houston today as there were 4 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 33 bass at 70.56 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.13 lb.

Chris DiBerardino from Huffman, Tx ran his Triton/Mercury bass rig to the north lake E. Fork & Luces Bayou areas to catch his bass throwing tx rigged brushhogs & small crank baits in 1-4 ft of water around stumps and brush. Chris also had the Big Bass of the event, a fine 4.78 lber. Chris managed to catch 7 keepers and cull to finish in 1st place with a bag of bass tipping the scales at 13.09 lbs and made him $600.00 for his day on the water.

James Chandler from Liberty, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury to north end creeks and finished his day in 2nd with 5 bass at 12.57 lbs and took home $210.00 for his efforts.
