Pfluger This Reel Should Cost More | |

(Apr. 02, 2012 - Columbia, SC)... Every reel should strive to offer the handling, comfort, durability and cost of the Pflueger Supreme MG spinning reel. With an MSRP of just $99.95, the lightweight reel has that same smooth feel of tackle costing much more. Four sizes are offered for just about every fresh water fish like panfish, crappie, trout, walleye and bass.
Magnesium, one of the lightest weight and most durable materials used in fishing reels today, creates a framework for additional top of the line features. Nine stainless steel bearings plus an instant anti-reverse bearing provides smooth cranking operation. The anti-reverse can be turned on or off. The solid aluminum bail wire resists wear and tear and complements the Sure-Click bail system; which provides an audible click that lets the angler know when the bail is open and ready to cast. The line roller on the bail is titanium coated.
The braid ready spool is made from machined, ported and double anodized aluminum. This braid ready spool uses embedded vertical rubber inserts that grab the braided line and keep it from slipping; eliminating the need to use mono backing or tape.
Model 8225MG weighs 6.6 ounces and has a spool capacity of 110 yards of 4-pound test mono/140 yards of 6-pound braid. Model 8230MG weighs 7.5 ounces and has the capacity to hold 145 yards of 6-pound mono/190 yards of 8-pound braid. Model 8235MG weighs 8.9 ounces and can spool 185 yards of 8-pound mono/220 yards of 10-pound braid and Model 8240MG weighs 9.7 ounces and can hold 230 yards of 10-pound mono/280 yards of 14-pound braid.
