Name: Matt "Cattmatt" JonesLocation: Prophetstown, IL Boat: 1860 SC Gator Tough Package Jon Motor: Yamaha F90TLR About Matt: I was raised in northern Illinois fishing with my dad on the Rock and Mississippi river's and there tributaries. Currently I reside in the small town of Prophetstown, Illinois with my wife Jill and son Matthew Jr. and Daughter Taya. The whole family enjoys the outdoors, especially catfishing. The sport of catfishing and the catfish itself is very important to me. It is really all I have ever known and most of my memories center around days and nights chasing giant whisker fish. Currently I operate Catmatt on the Rock guide service on the Rock River in Northwestern Illinois. I specialize in trophy flatheads but do a lot of Channel catfishing as well. This year I have began traveling to more river systems to prepare myself to fish the Cabela's King Kat series and many other tourney's also. I share my passion for catfishing on my website, www.catfishacademy.com , visit me there sometime or catch me at a show, seminar or on the river. Spending time on the water is good enough for most. Spending time on the Rock River, now that is something special. A river that is known for the giant flatheads, nice channel cats and propeller wreckin' rocks the size of cars. That is where I come in. I have been fishing this river for more than 20 years now and have put together my experiences and knowledge I have gained from many old river rats that have spent there lives on this river to form my guide service. When you come here for a day on the river with me know that at any time a giant fish is a distinct possibility for many roam these waters. I have personally taken flatheads weighing in the upper 70 pound class. In a given day we will fish giant logjams at close range, holes that reach as deep as 35 feet and everything in between. You will have a great time, see magnificent scenery and leave thoroughly satisfied. If it is channel cats you're after, don't fret as there is an abundance of those whiskery beasts to be reckoned with also. Channel cats over 10 pounds and at times up to 18 or 20 pounds are caught at times. If you can take the cold this river offers some of the best ice out channel cat fishing one can find anywhere. Whether you're after Giant Flatheads, Bruiser Channel cats, this legendary river is the place to come. I look forward to seeing you here CatmattI am proud to represent G3, The G3 gator Tough 1860 jon boat I guide from is the perfect ride for Chasing giant cats on any water. |
