Sometimes during shipping and handling the weed guard gets mashed or pushed out of its intended position.

TIPS:

1. Check the hook to ensure that the closed end of the weed guard does not go beyond the barb, if it does, slightly squeeze the hook (long ways) and the weed guard will pop out from under the barb.

2. Spread the weed guard wires about 3/32� apart. The closed end of the weedguard should be 1/2 way between the hook point and the barb.

3. After use, the weed guard loses its memory. Disengage the weed guard and lift it (towards the fishing line) up in the middle with your finger. This strengthens the weed guard.

We recommend that you check the weed guard after every bite to ensure it is in the proper position.
